5k Fun Run/Walk

The 5k and 1k Fun Run/Walk will be great events for all of the family. If you are dipping your toe into the running waters for the first time and are not fully confident with testing yourself over the 10 Mile distance then a shorter distance may be for you! As well as serving as an introduction to the running world this is a great chance to raise funds for the Concern Haiti Appeal, a great cause. Why not encourage family and friends onto the roads of West Waterford and lets all be part of what will be a great sporting and community occasion. Remember all under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult.

The first mile follows the same road as the 10 mile event and there is a slight incline up to the 1 mile mark. Slightly after the 1 mile mark there will be a sharp right turn towards the village of Aglish. There will be some respite afforded to participants at this down hill section (so enjoy)!

Another right turn before the 2 mile mark will bring participants along a winding road and back towards the village of Villierstown. The 5k event will finish back where the event began with spectators cheering you on over those last few metres and some well deserved refreshments back in Villierstown Hall.
